Have you ever been to Naples? πŸ•πŸ˜‹

Happy Aloha Friday!

Welcome to this week's roundup of tasty tidbits specially curated for you from Hawaii to Istanbul and everywhere in between...

πŸ‘‹ Hi friends!

I'm heading on a quick trip to a new-to-me destination this week, Naples!

I've been drooling over my friend Jon's recommendations for the best pizza in Napoli. This is the time where I turn to the experts in our Savor the Journey Facebook group for advice and recommendations and as usual, they've got great ones!

Have you been to Napoli? (Hit reply if you have any πŸ• recommendations for me!)

πŸ“£ New on Shoyu Sugar

Whenever I head to a new destination, I collect recommendations from friends and plot them out on a custom Google Map, so that I can avoid ending up "hangry" at a disappointing tourist trap, no matter where I happen to be.

Destination Inspiration ✈

  • πŸŒ‹Mount Etna, the tallest volcano in Europe, is witnessing a stunning new eruption with lava flowing from the side of a new crater. Kilauea continues its on-again-off-again (check the live cam). It’s amazing to witness! It also makes me think back fondly on a day spent at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park - Kilauea is back "on", last I checked!
  • Over 20+ travel experts and I have come together this week to share our best tips, itineraries, tools, games, and guidesβ€”all for free. I've included my ✨Daily Inspiration Language Cards (regularly $5) in the bundle as my contribution and there are so many other great resources. But in just a few hours, it all disappears forever! Claim yours here and you'll get til the end of the weekend to go through it and claim all the offers that you choose.

Language News πŸ€“

  • I love the Hawaiian at Home podcast from Emily & Malu States this week they talked about the different stages to becoming fluent in your target language and what they did as a family to bring Olelo Hawaii into their home. I love that they break with a few minutes of Hawaiian in the middle of each episode so I get to pick out which words or phrases sound familiar, even if I don’t understand most of it.
  • An article in the BBC caught my eye this week, about the benefits of cross-cultural friendships and this morning it was lovely to meet up with friends from France, Italy AND the US for a coffee before they caught their train! I truly cherish the friendships I've made that constantly teach me to be curious about other places, cultures, languages and of course, FOOD!
